Best Pre-Ceramic Submariner

What year and model did your favorite submariner come out and why? And which years do you think have the best value?

My 14060M.

The only value I care about is what it means to me.

Ahhhh....yes....the elusive G! What does it entail? Well...excitement I guess, and as mentioned....elusiveness. Some may even claim it doesn't really exist? I might argue that it does, as I think I have found it on a few occasions, only to find that the next time I went looking for it...I couldn't locate it at all? You know...like it had merely vanished!

Either way...this forum is prolly isn't the place for this discussion, but I think a couple of Doctors named Masters and Johnson did a tremendous amount of research on this topic in the 50's and....

OH shoot....you said G Serial? Oops, my bad! I thought you said....well it doesn't really matter!

So, the G serial came out I wanna say somewhere in the 2010 / 2011 time frame and were released side by side w/ Random Serial # watches at the same time. Most G subs were ceramic subs, however I have seen some examples of non ceramic subs w/ G serials!

For me - any year 16610LV.

The maxi dial with that lovely green bezel is just the best combo (in my opinion).

I absolutely love the 1680 red submariners... They're valuable but that's not why I like them, I love that they're unique...

The 16610 K Series, of course.

First of the Sub Date's to feature the solid end link (SEL) and last of the series to feature the lug holes.

I'm not sure if it's the best, but this 5513 is my favourite. Cleanest dial, lume makers with no surrounds, lug holes, plexi, rivet bracelet.

Yeah, but K is a better letter than Y or A, is the only serial letter that does not appear on the Submariner dial, makes it that much more unique and rare.

The 14060 2-liner with no engraving on the rehaut is my favorite. The look is so spare and clean, balanced and symmetrical. It's a real triumph of design.

No, nothing special at all. People just having some fun. I think it's the way you phrased your question that is causing some confusion. There really are no Sub years that have more value just because of the year. Maybe certain vintage references, or dial configurations.

Hey, it's cool if you really like the letter K, but no need to make stuff up and spread misinformation.

I don't believe there is one that is "best", however my favorite is the Gilt Chapter Ring 4 line 5512. If we are talking modern, my favorite is the 16610LV I prefer the traditional proportioned case and Maxi Dial-

G Serial 16610 for me pretty much last of the 16610 before the ceramic, but has the engraved rehaut and anti-glare cyclops like the ceramic.
