1997 Daytona VS 2002 Daytona
I have been offered an even swap of my 1997 gold daytona for a 2002 gold daytona. Seems the guy likes older watches. Any thoughts on the trade?
Thanks! |

Yeah I don't even know anything about that particular deal, but I think you're wise to check it out here first. Something tells me he likes your watch for a reason, like the movement being more valuable maybe, I dunno. Someone will probably be along soon with an answer, or who knows, maybe I'm just paranoid.

Zenith movt Daytona always worth more than 4130 movt Daytona.
SS Zenith Daytona hold highest value compare to TT or gold Zenith. |

Even for Zenith Daytona, you can find one at reasonable price, but not SS even though the movement is identical

Yours is the more unusual model with a Zenith movement. As with many things Rolex, it's the rarity / unusual factors that make all the difference. Stick with yours imo.

Near mint 4130 SS Daytona goes for 9.5 - 11K; if you ever come accross any SS Zenith in same condition and same selling value please let me know. Will take 1 white dial & 1 blk dial.

This is a personal call..
Right now the Zenith is popular since it is the previous model. But the newer movement is far superior.. Yours has a tritium dial and the newer one would not. The gold models are probably on a par value wise.. depends on how attached you are to the one you have. Personally I would not change because my collection is centered around discontinued or hard-to-get models.. however, generally the newer model has the latest up-grades and a longer life expectancy..
