First off, the dial is a rework. Rolex would never let something that bad out of the factory. The "shock-resting" isnt even straight. The case looks off to me as well or at least well over polished.

Dial has skid marks, looks like it was ran over by a car.

The dial is original. "Shock resisting" is printed straight. It is the photo that is at an angle. And Rolex has not always been the best quality.
And you are just plain rude.

You're the one that claimed it was a redone dial due to the wording as a partal reason. I was not being a word Nazi, I made the assumption that you did not see the word correctly and thought the dial was incorrectly put together (which you were wrong)....

but hey man anything that gets you through the day

Back to the watch...
Here's an upright version of the dial.

It "looks" like a Rolex "Precision" from mid-1940's.
Possibly recased - the case leads me to mid-50's era...
Take it into RSC to be better informed.

I agree the dial is original (with patina).

I think this might be a ladies-sized case? It looks like the lugs are plated (with wear). The case back is marked stainless steel, but I doubt the rest of the case is.

To me, the dial/hands are '50s design. The non-oyster crown is gold like the dial markers, so is probably original.

The case is definitely plated, you can see the brassy base metal on the lugs.

Looks like a home-made machined bezel and non-original case..

Hey guys, thanks alot for all the help here. The authenticity of the case does seem a little dubious here at the moment. I am hoping someone might have seen/own a similar vintage Rolex once, and can shed some light on this.

Any chance of a side picture of the case.
