Reasons to "Love" Bluesey

Just picked up a "W" serial number Bluesey, what caliber movement does
it have inside 3185? Also what reasons make this model appeal to so many
Rolex Aficionados versus other Rolex models? Work can be a bit slow,
just thinking and hopeing I made a wise choice.

I'll start NO other blue dial color in the world can compete

Any opinions and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers all

Kevin

It has the 3135 movement inside one of the most rugged rolex movements ever

You did a great choice i think that the blue colour makes it so popular and it is a wonderful colour in my opinion

Everyday I think about flipping my SS Sub for a Bluesy.....I just don't have the additional cash needed to add to it. You've got a real stunner.

I disagree. I'd take a 3/6/9 blue dial AK or Expy1 over a Bluesy anyday. I'd also take a blue dial DJ SS or WG over it as well.

But then again I don't like gold, and haven't worn gold jewelery in over a decade.

Hey, you asked for opinions.

It's all about the BLUE and why the new Sub bluesy COULD be a bummer. Hope not, but by going ceramic they MAY not have been able to recreate that beautiful cobalt blue.

Gold and blue, and gold, blue, and steel just look great together. That's why they sell a ton of them too.

Air King? They still sell them? Just kidding. Solid starter watch - perfect for kids and small adults.

Great pics, particularly like the glint on the the dial of the first pic, now that's how "blue" is meant to look.

Big Hat that is a beauty. I only have one Jason, am I deprived? Do both of yours get wrist time?
For me the watch has many different personalities depending on the lighting. A lot like me,

Great photos, looks stunning. I looked at one the only thing that put me off was the bracelet felt to light for the watch. I guess I have been spoilt with SEl bracelets.

I have to say that I have wanted one for over 20 years and now I have a beautiful M serno that my wife got me for my 40th B-day. I think that the Bluesey is iconic of Rolex, at least for me and I wear my everyday. I am just trying to get used to the idea that it now has scratches on it.

That's a gorgeous watch, Matt. I didn't know that you had an 18K Bluesy, I wonder what the weight difference is between my 16613 and yours.

Yes, you are Buz, now go get another one. ...kidding aside, the newer Bluesy, gets more wrist time.

Wow, I've never heard words like hot, steaming and sizzling being used to describe my watches, you're making me hungry.

Thanks Jimbo, I appreciate the kind words my friend.

The 16613 has had SEL's since late 99 or 2000. Hollow center links though.

Thanks. In an informal "heft" assessment with a TT GMT-IIC it seems a bit heavier despite a bit less mass in the case.
You want me to weigh it? Let me know.

Only the TT has hollow links by the way.
