Icon3 Are there much interest in Skeleton watches?????

Hello trf,

There are some really nice brands that make skeleton watches. Wondering if other watch lovers, like me, have any skeleton watches or tried them on or have interest in these skeletons????

I don't own one but I've always liked them. Mechanical watch movements, to me, are such works of art....put it on display

I had a Bulova Accutron Spaceview back in the late 60's. To this day I've regretted letting that watch go.

I always wanted to buy the Chonoswiss Opus1, but never followed through. It's a great looking watch.

I like them in theory but don't think I'd wear one.

I prefer opaque dial but observation back. Easier to read the time.

Once I got to see these artists in action in Le Brassus I knew I had to get a skeleton. AP will even hand engrave a rotor with your initials and/or coat of arms.

Interesting on the AP, skeleton not a daily wearer, I agree. Any comments on other brands?

That AP is lovely and actually fairly easy to read Jim.
Great recreational watch when you are not constantly using it as just a timepiece.

Not for me. I love the beauty of a dial, whether it be sunburst or tapestry, etc.
I do like a clear caseback to see the movement though.

Exactly my point, if you like a clear caseback, isn't it better on the top? That way you can see the beauty of the movement all the time? How often do you take off your watch and turn it over to watch the movement??? Not often imo, hence really considering a skeleton!

i would also love one as they look way cool but i agree most anything with a swiss movement is going to be expensive. i seem to recall spotting an oris and i think another swiss brand skeleton on wrists around town but it was a while back and can't remember. without having to search all over the net does anyone have any idea of economical swiss made skeletons?

Love that one

I don't always like them but this Cartier Crash is just insanely beautiful IMO, I could have this as an only watch for the rest of my life.
