pam 088 or 250

I went to the store yesterday and the salesperson kept on trying to sell me the 250 model over the 088. She was telling me the 250 holds its value better since there was less made. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Anytime you have a item that has less quantity made will hold value better than another that is mass produced. But owning a PAM is more of a personal decision. I have an PAM 88, and it was recommended to me by various sources to purchase a PAM 104 or 164, since it is more of a starter PAM and the most ubiquitous. Personally, I have only seen one person in about 2 months of PAM ownership with a PAM besides me, and it was my return flight from St. Marten the first week of July and as you can guess the other gentlemen had a PAM 104 on rubber strap.

i'm not a fan of the value factor when buying a watch. i think it's most important to buy the watch you love and appreciate. who cares what some salesperson thinks about the value of a watch? it's going on your wrist, get what you love.

She is trying to sell you the 250, as 250s sit in shops for long periods of time, were as the 88s sell very quick usually. Get the one you like the most and has the functions you will use, not one that you can sell down the road. They are both nice watches! I like the non cyclops date feature on the 250 and the 7750 chrono movement in the 250 s a proven work horse. But if you travel/live/or do bussiness overseas, you may find the 88 more useful.

I agree witn you chad, the 88 moves a lot faster! it is a watch that will not sit in a AD's window for long! I have an 88 and I am very happy with it. The 88 also has the same base 7750 Eta valjoux movement by the way!

I would choose 88 to a 250; however, no way over 236.
