$$ $teel Daytona or two of something else???
I'm seeing all you guys showing off your new watches and I'm getting a bit jullous. Damn their beautiful. Here in Miami we pay about +/-ten grand for a new SS Daytona. You just cant get it at the dealer. So people pay it. The question really is Would you guys rather own two other models or one Daytona? Anyone?

Same dilemma last month, was offered a stainless daytona, but was planning on gettin the gmt and would have money left over for another. The daytona is special if you can get it, so I'd definitely get the one rather than two other thats more common.

I just gave up 2 watches for a Daytona!
I picked up my SS white face Daytona from my AD 2 weeks ago, and I gave up 2 Panerai's for the Holy Grail. Haven't thought twice about it as the SS Daytona has been my quest for 3+ years. There is nothing like getting exactly what you want.

for me.. it will always be ONE daytona over any two less expsensive Rolex watches.
Daytona is always perfect in everyway! just my two cents.

I made that decision. I have two other watches. Eventually, I'll add the Daytona.

Daytonas are nothing special to me, so if having the option (the money) I would probably go for ... a GMT and an Explorer I. Or Milgauss. Or Explorer II. Or...OK, they were only two,sh*"^t

I just don't understand the Daytona appeal...It seems so tiny a dial for a chronograph...
Hard to find two Rolex that would come under the 10K mark...but I's still choose a Rolex plus an Omega(or two)... |

I guess it depends on how long it takes to get my watch back from service when that day approaches :)

It depend on what you want. I don't care how many watchs that you have. But, you can alway wear one at a time. If Daytona make you happier than any other model and you can get it. Then, go for Daytona. Last year, I got mine from dealer. Now, I am not crazy about it any more. I don't even care to wear it. Just save it as new for my four years old son. I love my SS GMT II even more after ten year of travelling together. And it will be on my wrist for many more year to come.

If it were a watch that I really wanted, I wouldn't bother with the 2 watches. Not a fan of the Daytona in any guise so it would have to be something else.

I cannot rationalise the desire for a Daytona, however I still want one, but not sure if it could replace my Exp II as a daily wearer. I struggle with the having and not wearing it all the time thing.

Yes, you should. I don't even want to replace his Daytona for Platinum DD...that means I have to keep both for him.......but he would not like spending a lot on the wrist......because he desires a....yellow 911....and I said....too much taxes and insurance for keeping it up every year.......but.......unsure what will come up

That is exactly how I felt,I saw the photographs and got caught up in the hype. When I got mine from my AD I took it home, opened it and was very dissapointed. The good thing is that you can get rid and make a nice profit. Regards Mike. |
