Grandfather's Rolex Watches Query
Hello,
First post of TRF so please forgive any mistakes. My grandfather recently showed me his Rolex watches and I was wondering if anyone had any information on them. I have tried to research, but as I am a relatively new hobbyist I have come up short. I also do not have serial numbers, dimensions or case back/movement shots. Attached are the only two pictures I have of the watches. The shock-resisting is my grandfathers, and according to him was bought on his 21st birthday back in 1952 for £19. I have seen similar dial designs from the early 50's but the lugs are unfamiliar to me and look 20s/30s to my eye. The OP was his fathers, but I have no idea how old it may be. Is it a bubbleback? Thank you for your time, it is very much appreciated. Regards, Josh |

Both are right in the 1952 range there. The first is a manual wind gent's case. It will have a calibre 700 = 10.5 hunter movement.
The next is tough to tell because we don't have the size. It is a type of bubble back yes. If you could tell how wide the space is between the lugs more could be speculated. |
