Flipped my PO for an SD
Flipped my 45.5mm PO for an SD.
I acquired my PO in March 2007 as a gift to myself for making partner. However, my buddy offered me his Z series SD, acquired in September 2007.I must admit that I was unsure at first if I was willing to let go of my PO. As some of you may know, I recently flipped a Speedy Automatic for an LE Patch Moon Watch so I was hesitant to make another switch so soon. However, the fact that the SD has been discontinued made me crave all the more for it. After having read here in TRF many reviews about the SD, as well as some comparisons between the PO and the SD, I eventually decided to go for the SD. While I will miss my PO, I am consoled by the fact that its new owner will take good care of it, and look forward to wearing the SD for a long, long time! |

Great decision, I believe the SD is the Rolex watch that stays truest to it's 'tool' heritage.

You totally made the right choice.
I had 2 PO's and thought they were absolutely brilliant. That is until I got looking at Rolex's and in more details, the Sea-Dweller. The PO's left and a brand new SD came in. Unbelieveable watch with such a clean dial and so much history. This watch is going to be a collector's piece for sure! Jonathan |

Very Nice! For some reasons, the PO just don't do it for me. Really the only one that I really want is the speedy. Love that sandwich sub dials.

You made the right choice for the long run.
The PO looks great, but with that coating on the outside of the crystal, eventually it will scratch and scuff and lose it's clarity. The SD will stay sharp. Plus, it's a Rolex...how cool is that !!!

I think owning the "older" model Sea Dweller will be a good addition to your collection--congratulations, I hope you enjoy it.

Great choice, and it seems I wasn't the only one to do that. I flipped my 42mm PO towards a new SD about 5 months ago, and it hasn't left my wrist since. I fantasized buying a 16600 for a long time, but ultimately purchased the Omega because of the price difference. The PO is a fantastic timepiece don't get me wrong, but i always had the feeling in the back of my mind that it wasn't what I really wanted...I was just trying to fill a void for a watch that I didn't think I could afford. After wearing the PO for almost a year, i realized that I was just delaying the inevitable and that "temporary satisfaction" was wasted money. I just bit the bullet and upgraded....definitely did not regret it!

Now, go to a good active Omega forum (e.g. WUS) and see what the feedback is.
I like the SD and may well buy the 16600 soon, but the PO is equally satisfying to its adherents. There's horses for courses. |

I have 42mm Blk on Blk PO that I bought with the bracelet. I now have it on the OEM rubber strap. I find it very comfortable, almost to the point where I forget I have it on. I also own a Sub no-date. Granted, its not an SD but its as close as I can afford. I love my Rolex for its history and it's iconic status, and it most certainly edges out my Omega as far as favorites are concerned, buy I do dig the PO. I consider both these boys my "Bonds".
