What to look for ?

Hello everyone , this is my first post on this forum and from what I have rad on here there are alot of knowedgeable Rolex people here . Question , I am looking to get my first Rolex and I have it narrowed down to a SS or a TT Sub . What should I be looking for when I go to the AD and what questions should I be asking ? Thanks

Welcome to the forum..

You know, if you do go to an Authorized Dealer, they should guide you through the process painlessly.

That's the main benefit of an AD........all you need to do is point at the one you want and you can be assured that it is the real deal..

You might ask them for the latest "M" serial number, and then double-check the paperwork to ensure that is what you got, but having one serial number over another is really no advantage..

Good luck, and ask us any question that you have..

It's just a typo on Tools' part. It's late in the evening in the desert.

Make sure you try both on and take your sweet time in selecting your first Rolex. The latest is the M-series, so they may be inclined to give you a deal on any older stock (Z-series or D-series), as well as you may be able to get a discount more on the T/T model than the S/S one.

Best of luck in your decision, you can't go wrong with either one, they're great watches. BTW, welcome to TRF.

JJ had posted a thread on what he looks at before he buys. I don't know where the thread is but maybe he can chime in and give you the link. Good luck and have fun with your purchase.

My personal preference is SS over TT. It's cheaper up front and holds up better in the long run. Also, at least nowadays, the stainless models hold their value much better.
