My skin is pretty sensitive and I know it gets along with the Patek strap so I say Patek though the Oyster flex looks nice too.

Both great watches, among them I chose the aquanaut but in the end I sold it (the strap is excellent / the clasp not so much) and found this combination to work best.

If scratches on the bezel would bother you then probably best to go w/ the YM

I'd go with YM. Please do not take this personally if you have an Aquanaut, but the model always stroke me as an imitation of Genta's original designs. There is just _something_ about it that is quite odd. If I wanted to get a sports watch from Patek, I'd go with Nautilus and call it a day.

I had an aquanaut and loved it. But it scratches very easily and isn't so "tough". Tried the yachtmaster not to long ago and it is stunning. The strap is very comfortable. The rose gold and black look great together.

RG YM for me. The odd thing I see with the Aquanaut is the lines on the dial. They remind me of Lattitude / Longitude lines on a globe and seem misplaced on anything other than a world timer. It's just one of those visual things that I see that bug me and once seen, I can't get past it.

I had an aquanaut that I ended up trading. At this point, I wouldn't go back and add it again. It's simply not as rugged as the YM. For me, if I am going to wear a PP sports piece it will be a nautilus.

That being said the YM price needs to come down.

My personal experiences with 3 Pateks is such that I have traded one, Aquanaut, and would not buy another. Others have had far better experiences. Now, I only consider Rolex.

You do realize that the Nautilus and Aquanaut have identical movements are other than the dial, slightly different cases, and the fact that the Nautilus is available on a bracelet they are virtually the same watch, don't you?

It might be the entry-level Patek in price, but I would hardly call a stainless watch on a rubber strap that sells for nearly $20k entry-level. It's still a Patek, and if you need any convincing just look at the caseback. I love all of my Rolex's, but open one up and it's far more a diesel workhorse than a Ferrari engine driving it. Nothing wrong with that, they rarely break and need very little service, but it's far from a piece of art.

It seems to be very popular to bash the Aquanaut, but it often comes from Rolex owners who say that "real" Patek enthusiasts hate the watch, but oddly I've never actually heard that from a Patek owner, casual or serious collector.

It photographs well but seemed a bit flat....both bracelets are very comfortable. The Rolex is heavier and the 5167 under the radar. The 5167 is also significantly cheaper. Maybe I should have kept both, I don't know...all I know is that I am wearing the 5167 now and sold the YM.
