Cal 1030 Pallet Fork

I have a vintage 6610, and the pallet fork is bent. It is the only part i need to get it repaired. I located one in California, but it was rusty, so I passed. Does anyone know where I may find one?

How exactly does one bend a pallet?

I'm thinking of possible scenarios and they aren't good. Anyway glad you found one!

Mishandling, the pallet fork has a pin referred to the guard finger. This is a extremely small part made out of brass and if a watchmaker isn't careful, damage could occur.

Yes Philip I'm a watchmaker.

I understand. He said he had a BENT PALLET?

No reference to the guard pin or safety was made. You would still have to be completely mishandling the pallet to accidentally bend the guard pin....And if you did "bend" it...you could "bend" it back...and if resulted in it breaking off..you would no longer have a "bent" pallet...you would have a BROKEN pallet.

It would be pretty hard to BEND a pallet...the pallet itself.

But I digress. You would have to be a complete gorilla to BEND a pallet.

You could break a pallet arbor...but to BEND A PALLET? With what PLIERS?

What operation would one be undertaking that one would BEND the pallet...?

Sorry I don't get it. Carry on.
