Best Ballpoint Pen?

I don't really know much about fine pens, and have never had a nice one, but I am interested in getting my first. Preferably a ballpoint for the extra convenience and under $400. Also I would like something I can rely on and not worry about etc. What would you all suggest I take a look at?

I would suggest you pick up a nice Pelikan or Montblanc ballpoint.

You cannot go wrong with either and they will keep their resale value when you determine to upgrade.

Either of these will be way under $400.00.

My best wishes!

Richard

I do like my montblanc starwalker midnight ballpoint. That was my first higher end pen. Prices are well under your limit and it's a nice pen

Lalex and Caran dAche do a nice ballpoint and a Fisher space pen can be handy.

I'm not a pen guy by any stretch, but I have a few Caran D'Ache ballpoints, and for $20 they're tough to beat. Good feel, and they come in a bunch of cool colors.

Best,
-GW

If you want a no nonsense, bulletproof, well designed pen may I suggest Maxmadco. These come in brass, titanium and stainless steel. These are handmade by Jim Mardid, member of the original Marathon SAR design team. Highly recommended.

For a cheap Mont Blanc ballpoint (for work etc) i'd highly recommend the Cruise Collection.

Less than $200 !!
