Rolex quartz service??

Saw a good offer of 19018 day date oysterquartz with a diamond dial for 7800€ the watch is from 1982.

Only i was thinking what when the quartz movement get broken can Rolex still repair such a watch?? And has anybody a idea what the cots are.

I'm afraid when I buy the watch rolex said over 5 years we are not service oysterquartz watches anymore because we don't have parts anymore.

We has exeprience with repairs done by a RSC

Service means a new movement.

They do service them and it generally cost more than what you would pay to have an automatic serviced. I have owned two of them and never had a problem other than changing the battery.

Wel i read older posts where the costs are from 600$ to 2000$ for a new movement. And 2000$ is a lot of money for a new movement

Especially when it's a quartz movement!

I think a couple of UK guys service the movements but only an Authorised Repairer will have access to case caskets, crystals etc.

I had my 1977 OQ serviced a couple of years ago by RSC. Price was about the same as a Sub, GMT, etc, as nothing major needed replacing.

Its a super reliable watch. Rumor has it Rolex has bajillions of oysterquarz movements stashed away in a vault...

It is a unique case and movement in Rolex's modern history. Enjoy!

Depends if you needs stepped motor Rolex quoted me over 2k in Australia with a mandatory service as well. I sent it to Ric at timecare inc. 800 usd serviced and new stepper motor

I had my 17000 serviced by RSC Dallas in February of this year.
I posted a breakdown somewhere around here.

Movement was $800 alone. It was over a grand for a service, hand replacements and the like.
They are priced to service akin to automatics and as crazy as it sounds, the OQ is the only watch I would want rolex to service.

Had mine serviced by the Tokyo RSC last year. It was about 800 bucks, with an extra bracelet link included. Movement service only - no replacement parts.

Called yesterday with my AD he told me that the costs for a new motor incl service is between 1000 - 1500€.

But I read when you send a day-date in for service is also around 1000€

Ik had mijn oysterquartz datejust een jaar geleden laten servicen bij gassan dam square. Was rond de 600 euro. Door een administratieve fout bij hun kant kreeg ik de service gratis maar ze worden nog geserviced in iedergeval!

Comment in dutch, english translation: had my oysterquartz serviced by gassan dam square for around €600 last year. So they still service the quartz

Definitely not.

I had my 1993 OQ done last year because the setting was starting to malfunction; the gear train is the same as a 3035, with a similar service procedure.

Should be good for another 22 years now. :D

By the way, Rolex provides the 5035/5055 movement service training in their advanced course, which also deals with the 4030 chronograph. There's no stress about parts availability.
