The SD16600 is a great all rounder.........excellent design and engineering........stylish yet simple and still 'tool like'. Service every few years and it will go for ever!

Agree. Vintage is so cool, but five digit is where it's at for me. Cool and practical.

Agree, I just sold my 116600 and have a mint 16600 on the way. The five digit just feel more Rolex to me, it's what I grew up seeing. The six digits feel like they don't have that spirt or soul that the five digits have. Just the accessories that came with the 16600 paint a picture of what these watches were originally designed for.

I think you can definitely have the old and new in a collection. They are perfect together.

Agreed. 16600 has more soul. Sold this piece and missing it since.

For sure. My favorite watch is an f-serial Daytona. It has the solid bracelet and nicer clasp of the new watches combined with the slimmer case and hands of the 5 digit references. It's the perfect hybrid. The new sd4k is another compelling 6 digit ref.

Every time I get a new watch, I'm tempted to get a modern reference, but the call of the 5 digits (even as overpriced as they are) is too strong to resist.

Aside from all of the more obvious differences, a great thing about the 16660, compared to the SD4K, is the smaller dial, which places the date window nearer to the edge. The date window is inset too far on the SD4K and looks out of proportion.
