Is it weird having the same watch as your spouse?

My wife's daily wearer is a black Explorer II (42mm). Mine is a black DSSD. Lately, I've been really eyeing her watch and have started jones'n for one. Neither of us is fond of while dials, so that's out. I feel like it would be a little weird. Anyone care to weigh in?

I think it's the thin end of the wedge, as it could lead to you starting to wear the same outfits.

I've never seen the show, so unfortunately, I don't get the reference.

well your wife is wearing a mans watch (explorer 2) so this seems perfectly normal to me. Now if she was wearing a 26mm datejust and you were "jones'n" to wear one I would think there are larger issues.

If it's a lady datejust, then yes.

Wrong, don't do it.

Buy something different and buy your wife a new piece too. When she wears the new one, you can wear her Explorer so you effectively have two new watches

I think it's a little weird...but just slightly weird. I like the scale you have going with the DSSD. If you want something good smaller go to a Sub. Give it a little time and I'm sure you'll Jones for something else. And again, hopefully not something she has on

i just came up with a theory. As long as the size s 10mm+ difference in size, ok! Hers 26, his 36/41. Hers 31, his 41 ok!

Not weird but not a great look, IMO. This combo is about as close as we get, and even this feels a bit much to me.

Steve,
My gf wears my 40mm explorer 2 and i wear the 42mm, both polar white.

My gf wears the anniversary sub and i wear the 116610lv, close but different.

It's super hot when a woman wears a man's rolex, so don't ever worry about what anyone else would think.

BTW went to a dinner party at Zuma the other night and was seated next to two women - WG and YG day date (36mm). Made me want to go shopping and I am pretty sure the next day i posted a "which DD should i buy" thread. I'd wear a day date 40mm and have my gf in a 36mm day date. That's super cool IMHO.

size has to be different if all else is the same. I think the mid-size yacht master rose gold and full size would probably be ok. exact same watch is not for me.

Right or wrong, cool or not, wouldn't matter to me. What would matter to me is that there could be another new and different watch in the house and not two of the same. It would make me nuts.

I would never do it. Men should be men, women should be women. Blurring of the lines is not something I agree with when it comes to clothes, hair, grooming, watches, etc. Don't start down that slippery slope, Lol.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've killed the idea, and will find something else.
