Such a pretty face . . . show us your DJs!
Greetings Citizens of Rolexland. It's Friday night and time for show and tell. First, show us your DJs. Second, tell us something about it, e.g., age, gift or self-purchase (for a special occasion perhaps?). Has your watch narrowly escaped harrowing circumstances. There is a story behind every Rolex - what's yours?
Please post pictures of your beloved DJs! |

These are my DateJust's. As you can see I am a fan of the Romans. I just sold the rose gold and the yellow gold is for sale now. I loved both and the only reason I'm parting with them is that I'm trying to get enough money together for my "Grail" watch.

I really love the Datejust line.
I've had around 15 watches in the higher-end/Rolex category. The thing is - I'm a "one watch"-type of guy. I mostly 'trade in', but the few times, I have sold a watch, and ended up without one for a some time (weeks/months); it's always a Datejust that gets me back in the race. To me, a Datejust is the perfect all around watch, especially with the oyster, and either smooth or engine turned bezel. Many seem to think that the Datejusts are too small these days, but I'm "blessed" with 6.5" wrists, so to me they are perfect So here they are: My first Rolex, 1983 (flipped it for a GMT 16700): My second, 1981 (flipped it for a Speedmaster): My present, 2002 (probably a keeper for many years to come): As mentioned, I think this is the optimal Datejust. I simply loooove the Roman numeral dial, and the deeeeeep blue dial. The oyster bracelet and the engine turned bezel, gives it a the look, which makes it work in any situation, dressy, casual, sporty |

You might want to have someone take a look at that crown. I'm just sayin'.

Here is mine and an old pic of my wife's. Her's is back from RSC Dallas and looks brand new of course. Mine is back at RSC for repair, it was rebuilt after disaster drop and it lost all reserve power. I am wearing the vintage while I wait. Oh and of course the sickness picture for those that forgot. 4' drop to concrete floor. Decided to go with a dial swap so my old eyes can tell what time it is.

Here's my 116200, purchased in 6/2008. I've owned 2 SS DJ's in the past, and have ended up selling them after owning them for 2-3 years. I think this one is a keeper ! Love the smooth bezel / Oyster bracelet combo. My previous DJ's were all Jubilee bracelets.

There are many like it, but this one is mine
I wanted a silver stick dial SS DJ with WG fluted bezel on a Jubilee. This was my conception of the perfect DJ. Then a gentleman on the forum named Claus posted some pics of his perfect White Roman dial on a black exotic animal skin strap.
I was tormented. About six months later, a lovely forum member named Karis posted her flawlessly exquisite slightly-used DJ on the forum. I watched the for-sale thread for six days hoping someone else would buy it. There it sat, taunting me. I barely slept. I'm sleeping better now.

Karis, I may be closer than you think to buying one. I want to get a mid-size for the GF at some point (though I was thinking I should buy her a different piece of jewelry first).
