ap says light swimming is fine. i mean they differentiate between 20m and 50m. but if you dont get it tested i wouldnt. i mean people make crap up about a submariner not being capable of handling a shower.

A screw-down crown is not a mandatory requirement for anything that isn’t a 30m WR dress watch.
If the manufacturer has stated the watch is WR to 50m, then it’s good for that depth and the associated activities, such as swimming and snorkelling.

I had a 15202 and regularly washed it under running water without any problem.

The PP 5712 has 60m WR, and a screw down crown, would I swim with mine? Unlikely, sure it can probably take it, but I prefer not to experience what does happen if it doesn't take it...

I wouldn't swim with it but wouldn't worry about hand washing etc. Also wouldn't worry about a quick dip in the pool. I'd be more concerned with damaging the finish.

The disappointment if anything goes wrong, water, scraping it, etc would far exceed the pleasure of swimming with it. So I'm also a no on that one.

To echo some sentiments...it is not a watch I would swim in.

I typically strap on my Sea Dweller for the pool, if I take any watch at all.

Question: how do you guys clean the watch? Don't you wash it under running water? Is that safe and how does it compare to swimming with the watch on?
I am asking because I always wonder if it is not okay to swim with it (I don't mean diving just regular swimming) then how is it okay to wash it under running water?

^ I would comment that it is a difference of being fully submerged for a long period of time vs a quick rinse

A drop of water on a wrong place exactly the same harmful ,in certain cases tap water had higher pressure than a light swim in the pool.

Since these watches are sold as sports watches and some clients just do not understand why a light swim is such a big challange.

absolutely not. No sense in risking it with this watch.
