Explorer 1 (new) Vs DJ (36mm)

Today I have and a chance to try the new explorer 1. It looks stunning with well proportioned hands and indices.
The price is 4300£ with an option to buy under 0% interest scheme with payment over 24 months.

I have anice explorer 2 black and not sure if u have to buy this explorer 1 or just buy a different rolex model (36mm DJ with jubilee bracelet and blue dial with smooth bezel)

I guess there is going to be at least 10% price increase from september 1st. Is it a good deal comparing how pound is behaving at present.

Your thoughts please

Here is the picture of explorer 1 and DJ

I think the EXI and the DJ look more similar than the EXPI and the EXPII. The only similarity is the name!

BTW is the dial on the new EXP matte??

Blue dial datejusts look amazing in some lights. I'd go for the DJ.

Fluted bezel jubilee bracelet with blue DJ simply superb. Wondered if the fluted bezel makes the watch flashy?

Tx. That's why I am planning to get blue DJ with jubilee but smooth bezel instead of fluted. This would save me 700 quid aswell. But some forum members have commend that jubilee bracelet goes with fluted bezel. Pl check this picture and I am interested in one on the left. Would i be able to use it for daily wear? And also what is your wrist size. I just feel that it is slightly small in my 6.75 inch wrist.

For me fluted bezel all the way with the jubilee bracelet mate the white gold bezel really looked good with the polished links on the bracelet but very bright very flashy I thought, you just have to ask yourself is that you mate?

A blue dial dressier watch is the way to go with your ExpII.
DJ with jubilee has to be with fluted bezel, otherwise the look is incomplete.

Well, first off, huge blue dial fan here. Huge. That DJ is gorgeous.

But, I love..love! the new EXP. So it's not even close for me.

Pull the trigger so we can see some more pics and wrist shots.

sorry i forgot to answer that....i had a 16200 all steel with engine turned bezel with jubilee and wore it for over 10 years, rolex have been crafty and stopped the engine turned bezel, now only do smooth or wg fluted!.

you might get a shock how flashy it looks on the wrist mind you,it will either put you off or make you fall in love...i have a 6.5-6.75 wrist and it looks dandy mate.

Thanks for the comments.
Once again we have divided opinion on the jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. I would prefer to keep my watch less flashy so that I can wear daily with my business casual dress.
Not sure what to do?

You have to pick what you like the best. I like the explorer a lot but I need a date function for everyday wear which is what I was looking for at the time. I went with the DJ but that doesn't mean I won't pick up an EXP later.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.
I am planning to go for explorer 1 new watch from AD. They told me that there won't be any movement on the price. Should I haggle for a bargain and if so normally how much they would budge ..If they refuse to drop the price especially considering the demand on this model, what should I do. Suggestions pl.
Thanks

Tx. I do understand the situation. With high demand they can easily find another customer. They have agreed for 0% interest free payment option. I am not sure if they would offer this repayment option if I started to haggle for small bargain.
suggestions and your experiences on this pl

The 2016 Explorer is a great choice with it's understated elegance. It's unlikely you'll ever tire of it. I'm a fan of blue face watches too, but not so much the fluted bezel which I find a bit blingy, but that is my personal taste. Discounts on a new professional model in demand probably are not likely and depends on the relationship/chemistry you have with your AD (Always pays to be a gentleman). Good luck! Please post pictures when you get it!

It is good to know members views. By the way what is the cost of new Exp 1 in Canada. Just for comparison.

You can haggle all you want, but...odds are you're not going to get a discount on a brand new 2016 Basel model...that's one of the hottest watches on the market right now.

If you like it, buy it.

To have minimal bling on the DJ, try smooth bezel and oyster bracelet. Nice blue dial btw.

New explorer I is just superb...love it!

Discount on new 2016 214270? Not now when it's in high demand. But if you wait until the high demand subsides to normal, then may be!

Looking forward to your wrist shot pics!

If you have a black dial I would go with a blue dial. I have a black GMT and a blue YM now and go back and forth between the two all week. Anyway your choice. If you feel 36mm is small don't get it because I just traded my TOG after a few months owning it. I was thinking it was small from the beginning and I finally gave in and picked up a YM blue dial. Have to have the blue in the collection!!

Thanks for the suggestions and bright ideas.
I am leaning towards explorer 1.

If I happen to purchase the Explorer 1, this is how my collection would look like

Let us see what happens ???
