Can Independent Watch Maker Service the ROO Chrono?
Guys,
Is it possible that an independent watchmaker service a ROO Chronograph? Or we must go to authorised AD for any servicing issue? Before I own several Rolexes and always go to independent watchmakers for servicing... Regards,

AP is pretty strict on getting parts. My local watch shop is a Rolex certified independent that services all my Rolexes and sells all brands of watches and couldn't get parts from AP. With the reasonable prices, excellent customer service and short wait times I would just send the watch to APSC.
I think AP leads the industry when it comes to service and other brands should take notice. |

I'm sure they "can".... But I sure wouldn't let them.

Pretty much any trained watchmaker can take me apart, clean, lube and regulate them. But as mentionend above parts are not easy to come by, even gaskets.

Any (good) independent
can service the Fr. Piguet chrono, esp. with experience from servicing Blancpain etc. In case of ROO, however, the issue is servicing the Dubois Depraz chrono module which AP treats as consumable. Does your watchmaker have access to this?
Regarding case refinishing, I would not let a non-AP service touch mine, the graining is very special and without proper tooling the result can be very disappointing. Just my 2 c. |

Personally I wouldn't. I'd rather have those(APSC) experienced with the brand do the servicing.

Sure they can but getting parts is the problem
