1655 T-swiss-T allignment
the second rolex i ever tried to buy was a 1655 - four years ago - outbid, overwhelmed by the subtleties... so I gave up.
after a few years, they have once again hooked me. I have researched endlessly - seven different dials, five bezels...serial number appropriate, ad nauseum. apparently a very heavily faked model - not sure why - but i don't argue with those who have come before me. Anyway, the prices are a bit ugly - but i stumbled upon this one - that looks quite fine, but the alignment of the T-swiss-T does not seem correct. I was assured that the watch is legit - has been regularly serviced... but i have never seen a T-swiss-T centering where the T between 5 and 6 is more to the left of the minute hash closest to the 30 minute position. I then checked on half a dozen non 1655 T-swiss-T models i own - and all the same. Have I stumbled upon a lovely, but none-the-less redial - or am I just paranoid?? (yes, the orange hand is a replacement - more about the dial) thanks d |

You are correct to believe that the 'T SWISS T' is off. The entire dial is a commonly seen fake. I'd run very quickly from this one.
Also, the case looks to be over polished judging from the thickness of the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock lugs. |

Very common fake dial. There are other signs that give this one away besides the T SWISS T.

I've seen photos of several gen Explorer II dials with the same offset T SWISS T printing.

Putting aside the dial for a moment, did you look at the other pictures supplied by the seller? If so, what do you make of the "2080" case back? How about the 3135 movement? ___________ Instagram: @onthedial |

I never made it past the dial - the watch i was looking at had the correct case back, not sure about the movement.

The scale of the date font/window also looks off, compared to my 1655 anyway.

I actually dug up some additional pics of the watch (simple internet search) and saw that one of the images showed a 3135 movement. So, I was trying to point out that there were other problematic things, besides the dial, that should have been warning signs for the OP. With regard to my post, I was using hyperbole. _____ Instagram: @onthedial |

The dial is a well known variant of fake, not much to debate about. Stay away from this one!

The bezel is obviously not correct as well.
