So I still enjoy my Exp II (bought sept 14) but now that I have my BLNR (apr 16) it seems a bit unwieldy. I find myself wanting to wear the BLNR more. Anyway, I'm thinking of trading the EXP on a new 34mm red grape OP for my wife. Obviously, I will get a great piece for her and some coin in my pocket....but will I regret it? Its the same stupid question a most of us ask at some point and I'm only egged on further by my 5yr old who wants daddy to get the "green watch" or "da blue and red one". Letting my kids have a say in my collection sure makes things fun :-)

Could be the new watch honeymoon. Could be that the exporer isn't your thing (I can't stand the 42mm version). Only you can be sure.

I traded up my Exp2 to a BLNR and have no regrets. BLNR is essential the Exp2+ a more robust bezel. I do not miss my Exp2 a single bit

I actually did that same trade in reverse...never really warmed up to the BLNR. I found the EXP2 to be a breath of fresh air, with no ceramic bezel, a little bigger size, and that luscious orange hand against the black.

Your picture makes me think what a great pair you have...kind of the best of both worlds, so to speak. I wouldn't let it go. You're going to take a loss unless you get some extraordinary deal.

And the kicker...unless your wife is a watch nut, the amount of money you'd spend on a Rolex might be better served on some sort of other jewelry.

I am in this same boat. I bought the blnr prior to the purchase of my explorer II, I have never worn my blnr and wear the explorer II almost daily now.

I feel you as the GMT/Sub feels better on my wrist than the Exp2 and if your wife will love you for the watch then go for it, but as Larry says there may be other things she prizes ahead of a Rolex and you may then be able to keep the Exp2 too.

Is your wife really interested in an older Grape watch? Or, are you hoping she doesn't wear it much so you can, "borrow" it once in a while...?

We really need to hear from her perspective before we can make a warranted call.

If your wife has her eye on the OP then I'd make the move for sure. It gives you coin in your pocket, makes the wife happy, and leaves you with some brownie points which you can later turn into a second Rolex that may catch your fancy down the road.

I too listened to my 7 year old concerning watches and that's how I ended up with a YG DD 40

I would take pause for a few minutes and see if the honeymoon phase sticks. I would not trade on a watch for the wife as I believe you will lose too much on the flip. In the end if she is not a watch person you will be out a watch and have to come up with more cash for a second purchase.

I'm about to pull the trigger on another and my wife said exactly that; I'm buying another reference before I've had a chance to properly enjoy the ones I have. Six watches in less than two years? I think she's not wrong
