Will my Daytoa C 116500LN ever dip below the price I paid for it?

Hi Guys,

So I recently managed to obtain the new Ceramic Daytona with a white face, I'm still shocked myself as it is my first ever Rolex (so no previous brownie points with the AD for buying a piece before) and I didn't even sign up to a 'waiting list'. The benefits of living at working in Switzerland and making friends with the manager of my AD!

So to the point, I paid 11,800 CHF - The Swiss price inc VAT, which in today's currency with GBP in the gutter equates to around 9,100. The reason I am comparing it to the GBP price is that I'm British but currently living and working in Switzerland for an assignment.

I am keeping the watch and have no intentions of selling, I know if I do sell today I could make a profit of a few thousand.

My question however is how do you perceive the value to behave of these new Ceramic pieces over the coming years. Clearly I know there is a bubble at the moment but even once that bubble has popped do you think the resale value will ever dip below 9,100 GBP. As right up to the start of this year even the SS Daytonas second hand were still retailing for around a grand over list.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

I think the 116500 will be valued above MSRP for awhile.

I told my wife if a 116500 ever shows up at a dealer, can essentially wear it for free for a few years.

OP it is impossible to predict the future value, world events from economic crisis to a war in the Korean Peninsula can create numerous effects that could change the value of everything we own. Don't worry and just bask in the light of that new watch, knowing thousands of us are jealous!! Great first Rolex Wow!

Not sure it matters right? Many others would love to be in your shoes

Wear it and enjoy it - or sell it to someone who can / will.
