What size Nato strap do I need?
Hi everyone,
I want to purchase a NATO strap for my Rolex 1005 and I have searched on this site and found a few vendors. The top two vendors seem to be Toxic and Crown and Buckle. My confusion starts when I attempt to buy the strap, in that I have no idea as to what size to purchase. The size range is anywhere between 16MM and 24MM. Is the sizing specific to the watch that it will be installed on? If so, what is the proper size for my 1005 or how do I measure it? The diameter of my wrist is roughly 7 inches. What style NATO would look best with my watch? And finally what is the best tool use (and purchase) for removing the bracelet? Do I need new spring bar, if so again what size? Thanks, Zack |

You have to measure between the lugs to get the size you need to buy for the watch. At a guess, you will need a 18mm.
Spring bars needed only if the current ones are buggered.

Assuming you have lug holes, you can just use a pin that will fit into them to remove the bracelet, just careful not to scratch the lugs.

Sounds like you have a lot of uncertainty.
Why not have a watchmaker remove your bracelet, reinstall the spring bars and hand the watch back to you. Then, you can simply thread the NATO through and enjoy. |
