If it is a 1972 would not it have to be red?

Need a better picture of the writing, particularly the 660 on the dial. Could be a mark 2 as suggested about or a service dial as they do look similar to each other. If it's from '72 my guess is service dial as should be a red

Looks like a "toothpaste" service dial. Open 6s in the text and the 'f' extends under the A.

Inside case says iv 72 which is fourth quarter of 1972, Rolex started making all white dial in first quarter 1973. So it may have been an all white hard to know with Rolex back then. I was told all original but now they say a service dial but have no idea when changed. When exposed to bright sunlight it will glow white in dark for a time which is also confusing.

At first was told all original including dial now they state it's a service dial but have no idea when it was replaced. It glows white in the dark after being exposed to sunlight. Very confusing

Also inside dial states iv 72 which is fourth quarter of 1972. My understanding is Rolex started the white dial first quarter of 1973. So maybe it was an overlap and always white since dates are so close.

It's a service dial. The owner is confused but nothing confusing about the dial.

Inside case states iv 72 meaning fourth quarter 1972. My understanding Rolex started the white dial first quarter 1973. So maybe an overlap and was always a white dial?? If a service dial why does it still have a glow when in darkness as Luminove does not yellow like this?

Interesting that it glows, the "toothpaste" version that I had briefly did not.

Definitely a service dial.
