Hi, new on this forum
I have inherited what I believe is a 1940-1 Oyster from my late Grandfather. How do I tell whether it is genuine?

Member in the North West here. I helped a chap with one he'd inherited from his grandfather in the last year or two. Sadly, perhaps the original purchasers have reached that age....:-(

His had some nice provenance but this was not a "POW" watch as some 3525s are --- that is, watches supplied to allied POWs in WWII, and additionally valuable if it can be provenanced.

Feel free to send me the numbers off the case back by private message for a start, and I am sure all of us would love some pictures!

Either way.... The early Rolex chronographs are beautiful! An amazing watch indeed.
