Last Night, I Wore Skinny Jeans!

Well, not the kind the teenagers wear, but I did put on a pair of size 38, regular-fit Wranglers for my Tuesday night bowling league.

It's been awhile since I could do that, much less bowl comfortably.

45lbs and counting down.

When I get down to the 36", I'll be happy.

I'll probably never wear 34" jeans again, but you never know.

I start with the weights today. Nothing profound at my age, just to tone up the torso a bit.

A bowling buddy asked me Monday how I managed to lose so much weight and the only thing I could think to say in the limited time I had to respond was, "I quit eating everything that was making me fat." That sums it up well, I think.

To paraphrase a million other threads on here, big waist sizes like 38 are just a trend that's on it's way out. 34 and under will always be in style.

Buy a pair of 34's now, and try them on every week until they fit!

Keep it up Grady, you're doing great!!!

So you're going to start with the weights, do some super heavy squats...and then your massive quads will not fit in those pants again...

Great job on the weight loss Grady, keep going!

Great job Grady! Stick with it and you'll be at 34 in no time.

this is definitely the first time I've seen "skinny jeans" and wranglers brought up in the same conversation lol.

Awesome! don't quit at 36! You can do it- the later weight is as hard as the first few pounds, but fight and win! Then you can get a 34mm watch to celebrate!

Thanks to you all!

I'm at the point that I'm not really even trying to lose weight.

It's just a response to my new attitude toward eating--what and when.

Good stuff indeed! Always happy to hear when people have/are achieving their goals, no matter what that goal is. I also say; buy that pair of 34. I bet you'll be wearing them in no time!

Cheers,
Joe

I guess there's no reason not to do so.

Incentives never hurt.

By the way, those 38" jeans had to accommodate my IWB. I may be closer to 36" than I think.

Thanks, Joe!

This is my 20,000th post. I was a lot skinnier and hungrier when I made my first post.

I could really feel the difference at 20lbs in terms of joint pain and mobility.

My system was in an uproar for quite awhile, but it seems to be settling in now.

Wow, forty-five pounds! That is great; don't get upset if your weight loss slows as you lift weights - muscle weighs more than fat. You should still see the waistline getting smaller.

It is absolutely worth it.

I've been fat before, but it was always a temporary condition and never as heavy as I was.

As I've said before, eating a more modest diet, heavy on nutrition is not foreign territory to me.

I lost these pound without adding a lot of exercise. There is nothing more pathetic than to see some fat slob huffing and a-puffing down the sidewalk. As I get closer to 200, I'll be able to go walking more often without stressing out my body and will gain extra benefit from that.

As far as the weights, I'm not really interested in building muscle. I went through the "hunk" phase through most of my adult life. As a result, I can't handle the heavy weights too well anymore.

I just want to tone up and burn a few more calories.

Also, while the scale is still a good indicator of reaching my goal, the best indicator is the size pants I seek to wear. I've always focused more on fitting into my clothes, because in leaner days, it was cheaper to lose the weight than to buy larger clothes.

As for pictures, when I get closer to my goal, I will post up a shot for proof. Certainly, when I can wear size 36" pants, that should show up very well.

Sadly, at the time I came to my senses, I was squeezing myself into my clothes. No more of that, I assure you.

My Seventies could be my last decade. I want to be skinny when I die, whenever that may be.
