Which Sub???
Please chime in and help me out....I have the 114060 as my 'go anywhere' watch. While I do love its simplicity, I do find myself looking for the date. And while I do appreciate the symmetry of the dial, I can't help but feel that the cyclops (while polarizing as evidenced here on the forum) is a Rolex signature that sort of sets it apart from all the other look alike divers.
I've come to terms that I will be parting ways with the ND Sub and will be getting a ceramic date sub. But now, which one??? Going with a modern ceramic version but do I go two tone, Hulk or the classic LN??? Going to try them on at an AD today and see which one sings to me but would love some opinions. Couple of initial thoughts: if I go two-tone, I'm leaning towards black as it's a little more subdued than the bluesy and possibly easier to wear as a daily; liking the LV as of late as it sets itself apart from the sea of black dial subs but will I grow tired of the green over time; LN is as versatile as it gets but dare I say a little 'common' and not as special as the other sub models? HELP! |

"Go anywhere do anything" means classic, black LN. You won't be sorry.

If you get a ceramic, I'd go with the TT Blue, without a doubt. But I'd keep the ND as well. The older reference is nice to have.

Cyclops
One of the things I like the most about my Sub C date...the cyclops.

I love my hulk, but it wouldn't do for me as a daily. The LN seems like a solid way to go.

Prior to getting the two above, I was dead set on getting the black Sub. Everything changed when I actually got to see them in person. While I suspect I will add a black Sub in the very near future (I mean, really, can't go wrong with the black Sub), I do love the Hulk and the Bluesy. The dials are amazing (to me). |

"Always bet on black" Wesley Snipes...
I went with the LN, and I have zero regrets. I live near Chicago, and I don't see them nearly as often as people claim to on TRF. Enjoy! |

I had a black subc first but then wanted to try other less conventional models and I think you are in a similar boat so try them all on and see which sings loudest to you.

I'd go LVc. I love mine and that dial is mesmerising. I really like the dial of the TT blue too but I personally am not a fan of TT.
Good luck choosing

Get the LN first. Then you can be more colorful.

I hear you...the only sub I have seen in the wild is a new model 2 tome with black dial.

The LN is the basic modern classic, in my opinion.

Man that's tough. I think if you go black then look at the Sea Dweller instead. Out of the ones you mention I would go 116610LV for sure.
Hope one of them sings to you today! |

Whole heartedly agree! Get the LN first. I've tried on the LN, LV, and Smurf. I have to say that the LV does show different colors depending on the lighting. However, it didn't do anything for me. I felt the LN was just so classy looking. I feel if you golfed all day or wore polos 24/7 then the LV would look good. If you want to suit up IMHO I feel it would look out of place. But cheers to whatever you choose! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I'd keep the 114060 and add on the Hulk if possible. This is actually my plan, as I love the ND Sub, but want the hulk for a solid rotation.

They're all winners. But, if picking one, it would be the bluesy for me...followed closely by the LVc. Love the sunburst dials.

Tough call. I've always said if I was going to have 1 it would be the 114060, but since you are wanting the Cyclopes I'd say LVC.

Black is the way to go, if you are going TT then black as well for versatility. The bluesy is special though, I am fortunate to have the 114060 and the bluesy. If I could only have one it would be the 114060 though......

It is always interesting for me (as a newbie in this forum) to see members asking for help without providing some general info about themselves or their lifestyles etc.. How do you know that opinion of a 32 year old member of the forum who mostly wears short sleeve t-shirts and jeans, and say works in as a medical assistant with a group of young men/women like himself, will match your lifestyle if say you always have to wear a long sleeve shirt and work in an office environment where most of your coworkers are older and might own better watch than yours?
You see what I am trying to say is that what might work for one group of people might not work for others. Some pointers from someone who has been wearing a bluesy for about 9+ years now on a daily basis: - two tone is usually a more 'mature' look, meaning as you get older, you somehow are drawn more towards the two tone and/or all gold, than you used to when you were in your 20s and 30s. Does your lifestyle now lean more towards a mature lifestyle (wife and kids, stay at home saturday night, etc.?) then a two tone might be a perfect watch for you, as others that surround you in your life might also find it attractive and 'in'. -your daily work/office environment? will you be getting those awkward looks from your coworkers and clients if you had the extra 'bling' on your wrist? or would they look at it and say 'wow, what a nice piece... my brother has one just like it!'? - your general attire and work/life style... more casual or a bit more on the dressy side? If a two tone sings to you, would your work/lifestyle allow you to cover it up when you are somewhere that you don't want the extra attention? (you are wearing a long sleeve mens shirt with a tie anyway). Just giving you some things to think about.
