new daytona

Dear friends,

Sorry to ask a naive question but I have not followed the recent Rolex novelties. I have red that the new Day-Date 40 was actually the first of the line using a completely (or nearly so) new movement. So my questions are :
1) Do you think we should expect a new Daytona movement in the forthcoming years
2) Are the non-ceramic bezel Daytonas to be discontinued ?

Thanks a lot !

there always "could be" a new movement, but the current Daytona movement is rock solid so..

as for the non-ceramic bezel, yes the SS have been discontinued, but persist for now with TT and PM except platinum and rose gold

As far as a new movement, I guess anything's possible, but man...the 4130 movement is one of best, IMO.

Much speculation about the future of the non-ceramic PM models. I don't think there's a definitive answer.

I'm sure over time, new movements will migrate into the other models. Rolex has to keep innovating.

As to when who knows, only Rolex knows.

The steel non-ceramic Daytona has been discontinued. I would imagine eventually all Daytonas will have ceramic bezels.

The movement is perfect as is. I guess they could finish the parts better and put on an exhibition back.
