No, the "Great White" was discontinued a couple of years ago but if anyone can get one, my AD can. I bought this one from him last summer:

IMO the white GMT is the most beautiful of the SMPs but unfortunately the case is too thick to fit comfortably beneath my shirt cuff. It has now been replaced by my EXPII.

What a beautiful watch.

I wonder why Omega discontinued it.

Well, I assume poor sales.

However, it looks like a winner to me.

I'm a huge fan of the Great White. I seriously considered buying one before I got my white Expy, but I balked at the last minute--it just wasn't a Rolex.

Have you read the Holbrook Expy/Great White comparison review?

http://home.woh.rr.com/johnholbrook/whitegmt.html

(Bummed: this review used to have pics, and contributed greatly to my decision to purchase the Explorer-II)

That is a damn pretty watch.

I get so used to the noir faces, when you see a polar anything I'm immediately drawn to it...I love the white faced Speedy Broad Arrow!

It seems to me that I have recently heard more than one person comment about how nicely the Rolex Explorer II works with shirt sleeve cuffs.

I wear a Rolex GMT Master II, and if I had it to do over again, and wanted to continue with Rolex (a magnificent watch by any standards), I would choose an Explorer II in white.

But now that I've seen the Great White, gosh, what a choice.

Let's see...if I woke up tomorrow and looked over at the night stand, how would I feel if I saw a Great White...or a white-faced Explorer II?

Does anyone have a picture of a white-faced Explorer II and a Great White together?
I think I've seen one, recently, and on this forum.

Google on Omega GMT and look at images - you'll see them together on the first page - the Omega is a bit bigger (by 1.5mm)

JMSROLLS Hello Fr. John,

Good afternoon and hope this finds you well. I tried several times to send you a private message however would not send. Do you think your AD would be able to find a pre loved gmt great white? I would like to purchase this model. Thanks for your time and have a good evening.

I love the Great White so much I've owned four of them over the years. This guy liked it too:

And so did my cat:

Unfortunately the case was too thick for me to wear comfortably. My current Great White is the new polar 216570.

I did get a PM from you but my dealer does not deal in pre-owned watches and his last Omega Great White was shipped out years ago. He has scoured the Omega AD network without success.

So my recommendation is watch the sales corners and eBay. You might periodically do a search on www.watchrecon.com as well.

Good hunting! The Omega Great White is a beautiful piece for sure.
