Driving me nuts!!!
The TT white dial DJ with the jubilee bracelet was my grail when I was in high school over 25 years ago. Since then, I have owned a couple of SS 36mm DJ's and a SS DJ2.
Sadly, the honeymoons with those pieces did not last very long at all! I cannot get used to 36mm after having worn 39-42mm watches for the last decade+. The DJ2's proportions for me were just way off for me - something just didn't seem right about it. Lately, I've been finding myself staring at the new Datejust 41 models. I absolutely LOVE the new proportions and the fact that they have a new jubilee bracelet option!!! There are several configuration options that appeal to me! Now here are my problems... first, I am REALLY trying to slim down my collection down to a single watch, I have tried and failed in the past, but I am determined to do just this - not so much a financial issue - more so than a mental thing! That said, this watch is not very practical for me!!! When I look at my lifestyle (I'm the outdoors type) and my everyday wardrobe, it doesn't seem like it would be a good fit. I typically wear jeans, hooded sweatshirts, or something from my closet full of Arc'teryx gear - for work, play, etc. The TT DJ seems kind of a better fit if I dressed more business casual, which I never do! Maybe I am wrong, but I just can't really see rocking a new TT DJ 41 with that kind of wardrobe, and I don't know how I would feel wearing a watch like that when i am out hiking, sailing, or doing random things outdoors. If I followed the "buy what you like" philosophy, I would likely acquire one - however, I am seriously trying to think this out logically .. this piece, to me though is a bit like reuniting with a first love! What do you all think? |

I also have a wardrobe full of Arcteryx and spend a lot of time outdoors. I have recently bought the new Explorer. Unless you need a date, it's perfect and by the sound of things will go well with your style.
