My Submariner Fits Awkwardly and I Need Advice
I bought a 114060 Submariner last week and I absolutely love it. However, there is something bothering me - the fit. My wrist is exactly 7 inches and they removed 2 links. I have the glidelock on the tightest setting and it still feels ever so loose and a little awkward. I can often feel the weight of the watch being pulled to either side of my wrist. I know you're supposed to be able to fit one finger through the bracelet but I think I want it tighter.
Also of interest to note, the glidelock clasp heavily favours the ulnar side of my wrist with far end of the clasp sitting directly in the middle . My questions: Should I remove a link and keep the glidelock on a looser setting? Or should I try to move the clasp more to the middle of my wrist by taking a link from the 6 side and adding a link to the 12 side? Is there a third alternative? Thanks for the help |

You definitely want to take a link from the 6'oclock side and add it to the 12 side.

Take a link off of the 6:00 side. Also, keep in mind you have a half link under the clasp that can be moved to either side.

Remove a link from the 6 side and open up the Glidelock a few notches. Enjoy!

you don't want to have the Glidelock on the tightest or loosest setting as your regular fit. You want to be able to adjust if your wrist swells or shrinks.
Take one link off 6 o'clock and expand the Glidelock. |

For your wrist size, there should be 4 links on the 6 o'clock side and 5 links on the 12 o'clocks side. Then just adjust the glidolock to loosen, tighten or center the clasp under your wrist.

Put glide lock in the middle and make sure your 6 o'clock side has less links then your 12 o'clock. You can always adjust the glide lock after.

If the 1/2 link is still on bracelet, maybe remove it and that will make for a tighter fit. I have 7.5 inch wrist. 5 links on 6 o'clock side. 7 links on 12 o'clock side. Removed 1/2 link. Perfect fit and centered clasp.

I'll have a conversation with my AD. We'll find the best solution for the best fit and this could very well be that solution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yep, I'd put money on this being your solution. I have a similar sized wrist and yool one of fthe 6 oclcok side and two off the 12 oclock side. Glidelock does the rest

Yes, you could definitely reduce the links on the 6 o'clock side. As others have mentioned don't forget about the half links. Your AD should be able to remove one full link from the 6 o'clock side and then go from there. You may want to look at the 12 o'clock side as well. I'd target a glidelock position of 2-3 open notches while the watch case/clasp are positioned where you would like. You want the ability to tighten up a few notches if needed, while about 2/3 of the glidelock range is available for looser adjustments. The nub on the inside of the clasps should fall about in the position where the underside of your wrist has an ident.

I was having a difficult time finding my ideal fit with my new hulk too. I ended up sourcing a half link to put on the 6 o'clock side. 4 1/2 links on 6 o'clock side and 5 on 12 o' clock side is just right to have the glidelock in the middle of the range, the clasp centered and the watch fit comfortably without moving excessively on my wrist.
If you can't find a fit with the factory link and adjustments, a half link might be the solution. |

If it fits a little loose, do some forearm exercises. It will fit nicely soon.

The clasp of the Sub is quite wide so it's important to get it centered on the bottom of your wrist. You must get the "right" number of links removed from each side of the bracelet, a process that takes some experimentation for most of us. It's also good to know that moving the half-link from one side of the bracelet to the other side can be very useful in centering the clasp. BTW, the half-link is standard only on the SS models of the Sub and is an extra-cost option for the TT and PM Subs.

Hey everybody. Just an update:
I went to my AD today and had a link removed from the 6 o'clock side. It fits perfectly now with the glidelock at the centre position. Thanks so much for the suggestions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The reason I chose the SD4K over the new submariner was because of this reason, I could never get the new subs to fight right after they changed the design. Im sure if you follow what these guys are saying it will help, I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had issues with getting a perfect fit with the new sub.
