116500 or blnr + ck2998
My D blue gets most of the wrist time at the moment. It is my favorite rolex and I have almost tried them all. I may write a review soon I am that impressed. I might have the opportunity to purchase a 116500 at mrsp soon....would you do an even swap? I would trade my BLNR + ck2998 for a 116500 new from AD. I may get a little money back but only around 500-1000. This would leave me with D blue and 116500 as my 2 watches.
Recently had a hulk but sold it and decided to try the ck2998. I really like the ck2998 but this 116500 opportunity was not expected and feels hard to pass up. picture of ck2998 vs daytona below. Remember the blnr would also have to go. |

Honestly, the only thing that would force me to choose a Daytona over a Speedmaster (even the regular Moon watch) is the water resistance, because I tend to wear my watches in all conditions. The ceramic Daytona is one of the few modern Rolex watches I like, but if you won't be wearing it in water, I'd seriously consider that Omega CK2998. I tried one on the other day, and it is stunning. Tough call.

Do it, the DaytonaC is worth it. If you miss the Batman, rebuy it later on down the road.

In a nutshell, no.
BLNR, 116660 D-blue and 116500 is a perfect set. Land air sea; all corners are covered, casual, travel and elegance. Josh, can you do it without letting the BLNR go? Sorry to hear your hulk left

The hulk was beautiful and the green dial is just superb. I highly recommend it. I just feel like the D blue is all the diver any reasonable person could ask for . I felt like I would need something a bit different to take away from the D blue wrist time. |

Honestly, no. It's too much to give up for a largely lateral move. Maybe omega plus cash, but not a two for one.

J, can you hold off the 116500 and enjoy the CK2998 for now?
There will always be a 116500 to be had for a while. CK2998 is my top pick for the next chronograph, a panda I never had, yet.

I could hold off on the 116500 but my next opportunity for one would probably be 12 months away. I am not sure if the AD is getting white or Black dial so that may sway my decision. I think I still prefer the white. The ck2998 really is a beauty. I wanted to grab one before they are too hard to find as they are no longer available at AD.

Gut feeling...get the Daytona. The BLNR and CK2998 aren't that special. The Daytona is a Daytona. And wait to get a real and proper Speedy ... the 321.

I'm not sure I'd say a modern Daytona is any more special. Like the CK2998, it's still pretty far away from the vintage offerings many really want.

Absolutely I would. Not an Omega fan and always been lukewarm on BLNR. Daytona 500C at retail is hard pass up Can always sell it at a small profit if you don't like it and get the BLNR back.

Dump that omega. If you can get a daytona at list sell your blnr also and get it. You can always get a blnr down the road like someone said.

It sounds like a fair trade and any of the watches you move can be bought back without much effort. Go for it.

I definitely would. The D-Blue and 116500 are the two best SS Rolex in my eyes.
I am a big fan of the BLNR and CK but the Daytona is that good to justify the 2 for 1 move. |

Most here will probably disagree with me, but I was not that impressed with the D500 when I tried it on a few weeks back. To be fair, I've never been a big fan of the Daytona, (no disrespect to those who are).
To me you already have two great Rolex references: BLNR - the first Rolex with a bi-coloured bezel. DBlue, first and only Rolex with a gradient dial. Of course the decision is up to you, but I personally feel you already have the best two. The Omega gives you a little diversity in your collection as well. I also think it's easier to read. Good luck deciding, nice problem to have. |

The tough watch to get right now is the D500, so if you've got an opportunity to get one, then that seems like a good move to me.
As Ken said, you can always get another BLNR, but who knows when you'll get another chance for the Daytona? |

Yes josh. Do it. Great watch and I agree with the other post regarding the water resistance with the Daytona. If speedys were swimproof I would own one.

There are worse combos to be had....as long as the 116500 comes at list price, go for it. As others have said, go after the BLNR again when cash is available.
That said, I think you are worse than me. Wonder how long until all of your current watches are gone for others... |

I'd keep the CK (great watch), flip the BLNR now for cash, keep saving and be ready to pounce on a black DaytonaC. That would leave you an awesome trio of D-Blue, CK and black DaytonaC.
