Ruud at the ICCS Gala Night

Last night at the Ritz-Carlton, your friendly neighbourhood Ruudman was a guest of Panerai at the annual Italian Chamber of Commmerce Gala, and what a splendid night it was too. Some Italian exotica on display and a few watches on show too.

Considering I had to be up at five this morning to head off to Bombay on a job, Ruud Van Delinquent stayed out far too late and enjoyed himself a bit too much

Anyhoo, here's the motor:

The Panerai Display

One of these watches is a working 'dummy'. Free armpit trombone to the first person to guess which one

This one does nothing for me in pictures but looks surprisingly good in the flesh. Another free armpit trombone to the first person who can tell me why the dial is half Roman and half Arabic (Cru, Nick, Bill and Mik are not eligible to vote cos you know too much about Panerai )

Finally, the PAMs on the table. Shame Panerai's Communications and PR Manager had disappeared

I thought that when I saw it, it could almost be a promo shot. Then again, it was taken by a pro

Thank you, gents

It was indeed an awesome night. I could have done without the late night and the few drinks though, I didn't get home until midnight. I flew to Bombay that morning on the 0745; I had to be up and out of the door at 0530 and I still had to pack my survey gear before I could go to bed

Best looking of the bunch! Hate the late night transitions to early morning wake ups after a fun night like that. I dont like the feeling of brushing my teeth, whilst burping cognac.
