Always running fast???

Hello,
I wish to ask..... this is my 4th Rolex which I've owned. The M series 16613 was purchased new in HK in 2010, it ran within COSC at 4s FAST per 24 hrs. It was fast nontheless.
I've since had a 116520 which also ran fast and 2 X 16710's that also run fast.
I'm just wondering why's this? Is it the luck of the draw as -4/+6 was the norm and its plus/minus 2 as we speak.
Judging from the old scale of -4/+6 I'm thinking most watches run faster than slower.

Running fast is better than running slow as you 'can't' get late to an appointment.
If I serviced a watch and let it check by other watchmakers and it was running at -2 per 24hrs I would have to regulate it to near 0 but preferably at +1 orso.

I'm guessing that Rolex wants to keep their watches within spec but preferably running slightly fast for the same reason.

2 seconds a dy is the norm for modern Rolexes but it depends on who is doing the final tune I try to get mine out at 2 ish on modern. Rikki

I don't have a fancy machine to check but I checked over 24hrs against online atomic clock and looks to have gained approx 1-2 secs.

-4/+6, a 10 second swing, has been the pass/fail criteria for the COSC test since 1974, not Rolex criteria. That is a myth that has pervaded Forums for years; -4/+6 is STILL the criteria for the COSC test, that has not changed.

Rolex has finally standardized their own criteria for regulation at -2/+2 on their own modern movements. (It used to be -1/+5)

As to running fast, most folks prefer a slightly fast movement over a slower one and so most watchmakers will adjust for that.
