Play-tona or Plah-tona

When you say Platona out loud, is it Play-tona or Plah-tona?

Thanks!

This reminds me of the articles on AskMen. Well played

OP, the correct answer is that you never pronounce Platona -- because it's just TRF shorthand. In real life, say it's a Daytona. If pressed for more detail (which is unlikely) then say it's the platinum version.

Well, it depends on where the Pla-tinum ends and the Day-tona starts.

Edit: I guess the y is omitted so scratch that ;)

Only person who pays 75K MSRP for that watch is a total fool.
It can be had for high 40s-low 50s BNIB.

Platona would be pronounced pla-toh-nah, I guess....but I always thought it should be written and pronounced Playtona, as it rolls off the tongue easier and actually rhymes with Daytona.

This!

***I only use the term 'Platona' when on TRF. In person I just say "Platinum Daytona"

Very few of my friends talk about watches, and I forego nicknames for watch-talk with people, if it does arise. I've heard a few nicknames in the wild(Batman, Hulk, etc.)and it actually irks me...So I feel this would be no different to hear in the wild as well.

I still can't get the leprechaun to stick for the yellow gold and green dial daytona.

Also silver surfer for the pelagos blue.
