.... Antique Radios.

I went in to the antique radio store this morning to order a tube for one of my others and this 1936 Philco.... well... it just... SPOKE to me.

There was supposed to be music coming out of the speaker but what I heard was: "Dorklehead... buy me.....buy me..... ". So, I did. Added this to my 1930 Grebe and my 1936 General Electric.

What is wrong with me!?!?!?!?

The Radio is my 1930 Grebe, purchased by my grandmother new in that year, on top of it is a 1927 sessions clock, also purchased new by the same grandmother. The briefcase is my favorite Tumi item, the carbon fiber Marina, and next to it my 216570 Ex II Polar. None of the antiques that I own are very valuable, but they are worth a lot to me; especially the ones that have been in my family for 90 ish years.

P.S. Above the radio is a picture of me in my college sports playing days, my signature game against USC. That was a LONG time ago.

Nice! I would think is something wrong if you start collecting human bones or so!!
I still keeping my grandfather's Telefunken Radio and other one with vinyl player! Love them.

lol my dad and I bought a vintage radio collection on a whim. my mom has been so pissed we have half our basement filled with 100-200 radios rofl. I think we got like 5 or 10 Zenith Trans oceanics, and a bunch of other radios that were just plain retro to vintage. My dad and I have been listening to football games every saturday through this beautiful deco speaker and the sound is just incredible. really feels great to listen to, distortion and all.

How old is your popcorn? Early 80's can be asbestos. Best to leave it there.
