Most Stunning Dial independent of the watch itself?
What are everyone's thoughts on the most stunning dial on any Rolex independent of the actual watch?
If it was just the dial under the crystal without any actual watch attached, my choices would be ice blue; sunburst blue from TT sub; olive sunburst green from dd40. But my top choice would be the d blue. I know to some the watch may be to thick so I am just talking about that gradient dial and green writing. When the light hits it all at once it pops to this amazing burst from blue to black in a high gloss finish. Through the crystal it appears as if you are looking through the lens of a telescope spying an earth like exoplanet in some distant galaxy. The symbolism of shifting the deepsea to below the watch as if you are watching Cameron's ship dive deep below somehow fills me with delight and awe every time the sun pops it. |

Personally i love the flat blue that came on the 116618LB for a couple of years before they introduced the sunburst dial. Also love the Green dial on the DD40.

The diagonal motif ice blue platinum DD40, Then the blue on the roman blue WG DD40 and the rhodium ym. If that WG blue DD40 came with sticks it would be my new favorite Rolex dial but since not the platinum DD40 is still my favorite dial.

I love the Lapis dial on the Sub (N serials) and also the Grossular on the Daytona. Basically I will take anything off the beaten path including Onyx on the DD.

Other than the current D-Blue, then I would vote for the Ice blue with deconstructed romans one the Platinum DD and the Lapis Subs.

I love the blue wave pattern dial on the retired DDII platinum model. And the ivory pyramid dial on the DD36mm. And the....oh, nevermind.

Can't choose just one... ice blue, rhodium, chocolate...I even like that grape dial OP. Rolex rocks some puh-ree-tay dials.

The blue dial lives on with the 116619.

Yeah. They switched to the sunburst on the YG, but still the flat blue on the WG Sub.

Most Stunning Dial independent of the watch itself?
On the OPs query, I saw meteorite, MOP and some tiger eye dials mentioned. What draws me in that direction is no two of them are alike.
That reason makes each Rolex with one of those dials a unique visual statement...

In general, I'm a fan of the sunburst dials across the board. Don't think I could pick one.
