What temp do you keep your thermostat?
Just curious how other people set theirs in the winter months.
Granted, we don't get a lot of cold where I live, but when the heat is needed, I like to keep it around 69 when I'm home and moving around the house, then turn it back down to 65 when I head to bed. The sweetheart, on the other hand, likes it a bit warmer, so as you might imagine, it's usually a bit warmer. How do you set it?

Furnace and aircon are set to 69 all year round.
We throw on the fireplaces in the winter evenings to take the chill off. They are set to 72 |

My furnace takes air from the garage which is not ideal. So I put it on 60 and have space heaters in the rooms we are in.

Here in our area of Los Angeles (Calabasas/Agoura/Thousand Oaks/Westlake), we get summer highs of 105+ and winter nights (e.g., last night) of low-30's. Makes a consistent setting a PIA.
We're using a Nest and just out in an entirely new AC/Furnace system with new ducting and registers. Right now set at 72 starting around 6pm and "off" during the day (after 8am or so). I'm sure this will change as we get used to the new system and move back into not-winter (i.e., "summer"). :D |

70F or 20C. Don't know why, but while these temps are not equivalent, the numbers appeal to me.

Well, it's currently -16 air temp, so I pushed it up to 72. Normally at 70, but wanted to get a little humidity in the house via Honeywell unit.
Usually 67 at night in winter. The house gets too cold in the morning at any setting lower than that--takes forever to heat up.

Here in Abu Dhabi there is no heat in most apartments, but A/C is kept at 60* most months.
Coldest I recorded was 53* one February.

Adjust temp where we like it depending on time of the year. Prefer to be cool at night as I find I sleep better all bundled up.

68 in the winter. Have a natural fireplace in front of house and gas in back where family room/kitchen is. If we're cold that cranks heat out in a hurry.

During the winter 69 during the day and 64 at night. During the summer a constant 69. We have a gas fireplace in the family room/kitchen that we turn on if we're a bit chilly.

In the winter about 72 when I'm home. Off when I'm away and at night when I go to sleep. I don't like being hot when I sleep and would rather bundle up under the covers than have the heat going. It doesn't get very cold in Southern California so in the mornings it maybe as low as 67 and I just turn on the heat when I get out of bed. It's a pretty good system and the whole place is toasty in minutes.
No A/C at all needed in the summer, just one of the plusses living by the beach.
