If scratches really bother you.....

I've seen this topic come up a lot so I decided what the hell....keeping this short and sweet: If you are brave enough, light scratches you can "lighten up" on your own....as long as you're careful and have a little patience that is. For PCL's, get yourself a Cape Cod cloth, tape off the brushed portions that you don't want polished and gently polish the area affected. *HINT - I've had some of my best success using a q-tip. I've attached two photos below, before and after, as to the usefulness of these cloths. I posted the first pic earlier today to quell the panic of another member about scratching their new BLNR. It inspired me to pull out my cloth and polish away. Happy wearing!

P.S. - I'll share my trick for brushed links another day.

Capecod is great. Had success be ridding scratches on my watches polished surface. Too bad I didn't think of making before and after pics. But don't use it too often. It will cause addiction to getting your watch to new condition at all time.

great job. The scratches look great once you get a few more. It's only the first 1 or two that stand out.

Nice job. The very occasional area specific light polish never hurt anyone.

Great work - looks great. Cape cod - great stuff .. be sure to get the residue off too. It tends to linger and may get into the joints, etc.

True....just wear it and take care of it all @ once when service comes around...who knows, you might even not want to polish anymore by that point.

Thanks Kurt, I used cape cod the other night on the front lug of my date just 2. It had a scuff and light scratches, I used a q tip on the cloth and went really slowly and kept stopping and polishing off with a helix cloth. it worked really well

Thanks, useful thread... I've had my BLNR for two months now, wear it every day, and know that scratches will come. Nice to know I can do something about it before the ten year service wait.

Wow - I've had unopened cape cod clothes waiting to be used for a few years, and I've always been worried about making a slight problem into a big problem. Now I'll have to try them out... qtip seems like a smart idea.

OP I'd be very interested to hear your advice for brushed finish!

It's a slippery slope once you start polishing out marks, be careful.
