Older Day Date

What are the thoughts on older day-date's?

Like 80's or 70's models. Are the movements still work horses?

Any known problems associated with them?

Thanks,

Fred

80;s are great...steady reliable movements and the stone dials from back then were just awesome.l

70 - 80's DD's are my favorites.

you can still smell the scotch and marlboro's on them.

Depends on how bad of shape the bracelet is in, imo.. the watch itself is a tank though

My DayDate was bought mid 1990s and it still runs great. It gets serviced when it starts to run erratically by Rolex. The bracelet sags, but fits well on my wrist. I think it's a stunning watch. I've thought about trading it in for a newer model, but the watch has a lot of emotional value.

I love them all! I fell in love with them in the 1970s. Yes, the newer ones are heavier, some of the newest are bigger, but they are all beautiful. You cannot tell the difference from a distance; they never show their age.

Rolex is built to stand the test of time. Find one in excellent shape with the dial you like and enjoy!👍
