Classic datejust dilemma

Hi watch lovers! I went to the ad to buy my lovely datejust TT. I asked the ad if i should buy the 41 mm or the 36 mm.He answered 'omg no :)' the 36mm, mostly women buy this these days. So i bought the 41 mm. I was so impressed by the stunning datejust so i didnt even think twice about the size. Keep in mind my wrist is a classic normal-slim 7 plus and my age is 31 y.o.After some days of wearing it and being excited, started thinking if it is a bit oversized for my wrist. Some guys say the 36mm is more elegant watch, more classy and that the 41mm is disproportioned and less comfortable. On the other hand 41mm is more impressive cause of size i guess and ofc new 3235 movement with 90% of parts redesigned. After all that i even consider sell it and maybe buy the 36mm but still not sure. The fact is that the 36 mm datejust is more comfortable as its case is smaller and lighter and the 41mm after some hours u can find it in an awakard placement on your wrist cause it has a bit heavy-big case. Not forget to mention that the 36mm has the lovely hidden clasp which is prettier but not adjustable.Any ideas? Here are my wrist pictures Unfortunately the ad didnt let me have some 36 mm datejust pictures to show u .I ll do another effort for 36mm wrist pictures in another ad and maybe i'll upload them too. I really appreciate your opinions as i am a bit new in the watch passion

I think it's awesome. It really looks good on you. I will also say that you will get used to that weight, and miss it when it's gone...
Perhaps have both?

I think the feedback you'll receive will be very much along the lines of, "get the one you like best". It sounds to me like you fancy the 36mm a little more. I think your pics look great though. It's a coin flip!

Hm i know all will say try them both and decide what u like but all know people cant decide sometimes what is more suitable for them or more beautiful. I am also seeking for some datejust wrist pics and some technical advices about the movements among these watches. I fancy the 41mm a bit more cause its more impressive cause of size and cause of new movement but i cant deny the 36mm is more classy and comfortable. Ty for your reply

I think the 36mm is classic and will definitely be more comfortable as a daily wearer. That being said, I think the proportions of the new datejust 41 are spot on for medium to large sized wrists. It's completely up to you

What a shrewd businessman.

The DJ41 is a nice watch to be sure.

The AD told you mostly women buy the 36mm DJ. I would tell you that only women should have diamonds on their dial. I think the takeaway from all this is that it really all comes down to the personal preference of the wearer. We all have our own taste and biases. I happen to think the 36mm DJ is a tried and true classic and is the perfect size for a dressier sport watch.

That said, I do think the DJ41 is a big improvement over the DJII. I'd just prefer it without diamonds.

Hm he said to me that nowdays mostly women buy the datejust 36mm so i didnt even try wearing this model before the purchase. Also another ad from whom i ask told me almost the same with less passion tho. Another told me its about wrist size(he is considering a normal wrist size 7 plus inches for the 41mm) and preferences which i think is the best answer. Also he told me in greece they dont prefer the diam dial(men) as well but arabians, east people and some other european countries dont buy any watch without diamond. I accept diamonds are for women just i like them as well in a small quantity. Wouldnt buy a pearlmaster most likely although is a nice watch. I also agree with you that 36mm maybe is the perfect size for a semi dress watch but a bit old fashion too especially for younger ages. But yes is a classic piece and when i wore it after the purchase it was very nice not too small.. I wonder why rolex didnt make 40 mm datejust or even 38-39 to solve this problem. The movement upgrade sounds important to me from what i have searched about but thats a huge topic.

Keep the 41 mate. It looks good on you and I probably will get flamed but I agree with the AD totally. 36mm is ladies size.

Ye watch looks great in you. It doesn't look too big at all.

I think you are experiencing buyers remorse which is very common. It will pass.

I wear both 36 and 41. Love them both... I think the sales guy is none too nice; no-one will ever think a 36mm Rolex is for women out in the wild. They'll think only one thing, Rolex.

^ what he said.

If was 36mm good enough for this guy, it's good enough for me. And he was a considerably bigger guy than either of us, and most definitely not a woman. ;)

I think the modern 41 is the way to go...36 is the classic old school look.

Just my .02c

Good luck!

Yeah that's what I tell the AD's when they tell me 36 mm are mostly for women now a days. I say Tony Soprano wore it (granted he didn't have any option for a bigger Rolex dress watch at the time.) and he's way bigger than me. One told me "well we could still be friends but..." I don't care though, after trying on the 36 mm Day Date I'm sold. It looks perfect on my wrist and is very comfortable.

I think the DJ41 looks great on you but in the end it's your choice. I recently bought one after many years of wearing the 36mm on super jubilee. I really appreciate the easylink, enjoy the increased size/weight and think it looks just fine on my 6.5" wrist.

Nice dial choice!Good contrast. Especially in the summer the easy link will be useful.
