Red tag vs green tag

I've seen numerous posts about green tag having the 5 year warranty.

I purchased a pre-owned Daytona that had the warranty card dated February 2016, but I noticed it had the clear sticker with red on the caseback.

I'm worried that this watch wasn't truly purchased in 2016 and has the 5 year warranty. (the date was hand written in pen)

Is there a way to validate the purchase date or warranty based on my serial number?

And just to be clear, the green versus red tag refers to the plastic chronometer medallion (about the size of a nickle) that is originally attached with string to the watch. Did your watch come with one of those as part of the set?

It did not. I didn't get a complete box set. I was referring to the sticker on the caseback. My mewer blnr has a similar sticker with a green color on it.

I'll cal rolex

Send a photo of the card covering the serial numbers. Cards have changed also and it was not the colour of the sticker that is the determining factor for warranty but the plastic tag that changed colours from red to green.
Also you can validate with an official RSC i suppose. Check the news style tag and card for your reference from a generic photo i found on the web:

The clear sticker on the back is just a sticker to protect for scratches; it means nothing.

Do you also have the green tag with the watch? Although it should not really matter for warranty purposes. You should be covered to 2021 with this. Also you could double check with a RSC.

Thanks all!

No green tag, I didn't receive the box or tags. Just noticed the back sticker was clear with a strip of red. On my brand new BLNR, I noticed it came with a clear sticker with a strip of green on the back.
