Speedy advice

OK having a decent collection of Rolex and looking to add some variety ive always been intersted in the speedmaster moonwatch, (ive got a PO and cant fault it)
Now im not really up to speed(no pun intended) on the models nor the pricing, i like the idea of the plexiglass as a vintage point of view.

I went into one of the local AD's last night and got offered one for about $3400usd with the massive omega box(loupe, straps ect...)
Is this a decent price or am i paying for packaging... after all you dont wear the box lol! its very cool but its going to live in the cupboard with all the other ones.

Should i look for an older second hand pre "special packaging"? or is this a decent price for this set?

just looking for some knowledgeable opinions
cheers

It sounds like the moonwatch speedy pro commonly sold these days. That price seems good since the hesalite box set usually goes for 3500-3600 these days with warranty on the grey market. Speedmasters hold value well and you'll find buying an older 3570.50 in good condition will be in the upper 2000's......so I'd buy the new myself with the presentation box unless you absolutely need the older style bracelet.

$3400 USD from an AD on the .005 is a very good price. Personally, I really like the presentation box and all the extras. Straps, changing tool, and magnification lens are all in there which makes it easy to change things up. If you're wanting a Speedy Pro, and your AD is offering it at that price BNIB, buy and enjoy!

cheers guys
I think ill grab it tonight... i had a look at the double sapphire and as much as i like the clear caseback i do like the hesalite a bit better as far as the vintage aspect. I do admit the extra straps and the loupe is a cool incentive (box is cool too) .. i just wanted to make sure i wasnt paying an extra $1k for a box and bits.
Im looking at a daily to go in rotation with my SD, i cannot wear my "flashy" watches to work in my current job and i think the speedy will fill that spot nicely

Every serious watch collection must have a(t least one) Speedy Pro.

Congratulations!
