The description gives complete disclosure. It is ghastly what someone did to that watch.

I had never seen the periods after the letters. Absolutely correct with the disclosure. What a shame done on this time piece...

Thanks.

Err buddies...although Orchi doesn't like the watch...Orchi admires the honesty n sincerity of this eBay Seller - madclas who did his homeworks...before posting this listing of the G.M.T watch...he could be a candidate as 1st class Seller in Orchi's book...!

Thanks to buddy TTG's who has highlighted this eBay listing...
It's now entirely upto the prerogatives of any potential buyer to choose n decide...whether or not to purchase the watch in its present conditions well documented by the eBay Seller...

"Hello , this is a 3.3XXXXX Serial Rolex GMT Master, Model number 1675, made in 1971. I traded it away from the original owner who bought it new (in 1972) while in the military. Non-Quickset date, Matte dial. the watch has been serviced 3 times, most recently in 2002...

The original dial was repainted / relumed poorly ( note the periods after G.M.T.)
I have no papers for the servicing, the caseback shows three separate engravings.
It comes with the box, probably not correct to the watch.
This watch has a submariner oyster band , orginal rolex.
I am not sure how to grade this but will comment that the watch would benefit from a new acrylic and a new bezel, a movement service and a correct dial.
The watch is currently losing about 50 seconds per day during daily wear.
Hopefully the pictures will reveal all you would want to know as far as external condition.

The box looks like a mid-1960's vintage - selling for around $600 to $700. I'm wondering about the band, it looks more fake than real based on the links not tapering as they get nearer the clasp, but is too hard to tell from the pics. The band number stamp on the end link appears to be the correct size. Also, I can't tell if the clasp contains the notch on the side of the clasp as found on the early 93150's or possibly it might be a newer 93150.

If anyone buys it and needs a dial, I have one just waiting for the correct watch!!!!!!!!!

Hell, I might buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks "too new" for my taste. New hands and new bezel right?
franken......perhaps
At least he is an honest seller. May be a good watch for one skilled in the art.

I have several critiera when buying a watch on ebay. I look for those who take paypal or credit cards. If they take paypal or credit cards they are more likely to be ok. And you have recourse. I would bid on this watch. If it goes cheaply it could be retstored easily if all is well. I would be more comfortable with better pics of the inside case back and the inside clasp but all in all , this one does not bother me at all.

Sold for $3650. Sell the box, buy a dial and maybe hands from the money received from the box. Buy a correct band for $800 to $1000 and you're into the watch for $4500 - with a cleaning, it's under $5000. (If the band is genuine, it can also be sold for $500 to $800 and you'd have under $4000 in the watch.) That was a very reasonable price at $3650, if there aren't any other problems with the watch.

Wow?! The box alone is worth $600-700?! I passed on the watch at $3350 shipped.

My concern was the over polished lug on the case. Everything else looked legit.

A new bracelet is $500-850 from RSC and if the old bracelet was real then you could probably recoup half the cost. The dial was the killer for me, but thought I could have sourced a proper replacement. But the hands... the GMT hand repainted or replaced w. a non-OEM. That was another killer.

The seller did well after all eBay/Paypal fees.

My quest for a early 70s vintage continues. Thanks for pointing out that it ended up on eBay.

I have an early 80's root beer if you like those-or a late 70's solid gold 1503 date.
anyway-you could have gotten a hew dial for that for around 400 bucks in near perfect shape.
