No more case back gaskets?

I stopped by my AD early this week for a new battery in my 19018 OysterQuartz. He said he had plenty of fresh batteries, but that Rolex was no longer supplying him with new gaskets to install for water resistance. He asked if I have a concern about it given my normal usage and I replied no.

Does anyone else know if this is a 'new normal', and why?

Gaskets should be available for your Oyster Quartz case back. The part number for this model is 29-302-86.
