New post question???

In the mornings at work, I open TRF and check on the "new posts"
I often try to read them in little bursts, in between phone messages etc while getting organized.
I noticed that, If I leave TRF inactive for a while, I lose many of the posts and only the "current" ones show as NEW.
Anyone else experience this.
Or is TRF forcing us to read them all ASAP

I also find this quite annoying, and also the fact that it marks all posts as "read" or "not new" when I log off the site. Ideally, the "new post" function would be much more useful if it only marked a post as read after I clicked on it.

Like you, I don't have time before work to read all the new posts, so I log off there and come to work, and then everything that was new at home, but unread, is now not highlighted as new.

Maybe this should be in the suggestion area for the forum, but in my view if it could be fixed it would be a big bonus. Right now I have to recall the last time I was logged on, and make sure I note the times of everything so I know what posts I looked at and what posts I didn't.

I have similar issues. Like if I get side-tracked (interrupted) while reading new posts, and the auto-sign-off function boots me out before I've read the new posts, when I log on again, all the new posts are no longer highlighted, i.e. as if I've read them when I haven't. It's kinda splitting hairs because it doesn't take much effort to figure it out, but it would be ideal if posts were marked read ONLY if they were actually opened, rather than depending on if you're logged on or not.

I've been moaning and bitching about this since quite some time. I remember once Ed asked me to go through an entire rigmarole of Internet sh!t and increase the time factor from the default 10 minutes to infinity. DID NOT WORK!!

Come back after 10 minutes and everything's gone out the window!! Start all over again and everything's lost!!

Same problem here when I log off to eat dinner or do something else. When I log back on, the posts are marked as read.

Hi Mark,

Think something could be done about this problem? I mean, like the other forum WWF, I am always logged on. Never need to enter my password...ever.

Over here, I have to enter my long 8-digit password everytime I log in....so much so I now know it by heart!!

I'm sure there must be some kind of solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance - JJ

Although we do try to keep you Canucks in your place, you are not alone on this one. I leave the site open all day, but if it's been inactive for a period of time, when I do a refresh, it wipes out much of the unread "New Posts". It is a bit of a pain.

Maybe Mark can fix this sometime.
