What is your most "uncomfortable" situation wearing your Rolex?
Shortly after purchasing my first Rolex, a SS/YG Yacht-Master with a Black MOP dial, I was walking down a street in Innsbruck, Austria with my wife when she stopped me and said: "I would feel much better if you would roll down your shirt sleeves and keep that thing hidden"! So I did.
I must admit that I didn't feel we were in a compromising position until she mentioned it. Rolled down the sleeve and all was well. Has anyone ever been in a position that was more than uncomfortable when wearing your Rollie? If so, what were the circumstances?

The only time I'm uncomfortable wearing my watch is when it's 100+ degrees out. Other than that, I have no worries.

I bought mine at A. H. Riise in St. Thomas. I wear it when I'm there, but I must say, leaving the store after purchase holding the box, etc. in a bag made me a little nervous. I wondered if 'folks' watched people leaving the store for potential tagets. Needless to say, I'm still alive and well and so is my Rollie.

People get jacked all the time here in Miami. Its mostly the gold watches though. You know, the flashy stuff. I have never had a problem or felt uncomfortable.

Having it on my wrist, a client sitting across the desk from me, who comments "about how much I'm charging him when I had Rolex".
Now I wear a Panerai, twice the cost of my old Rolex and not one negative comment from any of my clients

Only if I'm out on the town wearing a short sleeve shirt. What I'm more uncomfortable about is leaving a store after buying a watch or jewellery & all the goods are in highly emblazoned packaging. There are people that watch the stores; I do it myself & think how easy, if I was inclined that way, to do a snatch.
I always ask for plain packaging or take my own bag. Always remove the merchandise & papers from it's box & put it in my pockets. That way, if the bag gets snatched, all they get is empty boxes. Why do I watch stores? Well I work in the city & look out the window on Castlereagh St & I have in front of me the following hock shops: Cartier Gucci Channel Hermes Salvatore Ferragamo Jimmy Choo Shoes Louis Vitton J Farren-Price The Hour Glass Zegna Hardy Brothers Omega Livendi Fairfax & Roberts Tiffany ....& the list goes on. I see so many silly people, women mostly (sorry TRF ladies), come out of these stores holding their merchandise, giggling away, completely oblivious to any danger. I think these stores should do more to protect their clients by not exposing them to theft or worse. Plain packaging would be a start. |

The day after I told my ex wife she had taken me to the cleaner, she saw me with a new daytona.
Needless to say she ripped me up a new one... |

When I first got it it was too tight and I was uncomfortable all that day.

The day I bought my sea dweller downtown and was walking towards my car that was parked about a 20min walk down the park.
The AD even asked me if I wanted a branded bag or a more "anonymous" one. I chose the anonymous one but I still felt like I had a big bullseye on my forehead and a big sign on my back sayin "ROB ME". And I'm probably buying the bluesy sub, TT Yachtmaster or the TT GMTII-C in a week or so :( |

I agree. My sleeves are down or watch is off when I'm in Miami (downtown.) Especially since my bluesy is a very recognizable rolex.

I wore my YMII to the Monster Truck Challenge the other nite. Worked great timing the jumps but it was pretty uncomfortable sitting there in 'neckville twirling the bezel every time Bigfoot or Outlaw did their thing.
I love Rolex.

I was really unconfortable in a Turkish Steam bath nothing but a smile and my Sd. Then again my X-files was always whining about "why dont you sell your watch... why dont you sell your watch". I would call her control drama and it stopped, Seems she did not like the fact that I would not get emotional or flustered when she went at me. Just cool and calm... thank god for those purple pills.....lol
She just didnt understand. I had my Rolex long before I had her... she will go before the watch will.... and I was right. Gave er the boot now shes someone elses problem |

When Im taying late at the shop tattooing some young kid after the shop is closed and he says to me " dont you ever worry about getting robbed"...but then I reply with "no..why would I ..there are seven firearms within ym reach right now, and YOU cant see one of 'em"....they usually regret asking the question after that is made clear...

I run my own business and I have a had a few customers make comments like "business can't be that bad, I see you're wearing a Rolex!" My usual response is that I bought it second hand...sometimes that is true! I do not have any bling watches so I have never felt unsafe, regardless of where I have been.
