New vs Old - SS Blue ROC

Which will be your choice? "Older" blue SS ROC or Newer "Blue Panda" SS ROC? Or better just wait for in-house? ( but probably boutique exclusive, price premium, wait another year etc.. )

For Panda Dial ROC - @orangedial

Personally I like the new one. The contrast is nice.

The old one for me to me give a more classic feel + the sub dial proportion is better. Doesn't mean that the new one is not nice just won't take over the old one

Old one for me. I like the fact that the sub dials match in size and colour. But since neither has in house movement I wouldn't get either.

Not a fan of the new roc but I do gravitate towards the titanium model

Very tough, I like the silver subdials but not the smaller subdial, overall I'd pic the new one, however if we make enough of a song and dance to AP now hopefully the new inhouse will combine the silver or panda subdials with the same size subdials and centered date.

Contrast is nice on the new but the symmetry and balance on the older ROCs = perfection. In fact, I am looking for one!

Much prefer the silver subdials, however the date wheel being off center I think would make me weary from purchase.

I would wait for an in house as I like to see the movement, but if from the two others I kind of like the panda style but feel the older dial is better proportioned, I would wait in any case

New model. It looks greeeeat. Not having in-house movement shouldn't be a deal breaker. It's a quality movement on a beautiful watch - that, imho, should be more important than demanding in-house. You already own a wonderful collection full of pieces with in-house movements. Free yourself into something that doesn't, but which deserves all appreciation.

39mm ROC or wait for in-house as I personally find the FP1185 movement too small for the 41mm case, although I do think AP has done a fantastic job with the dial design to try and make it balanced.

Out of the blue ROC, I'd prefer the all blue. If you were asking about the all white vs the white and black, the. I'd go for the newer model.

I would wait for the in house movement and see what other changes they might make to it Ben. You've definitely proven you have the will power..

Well said. A new in house will come at a significant price bump as well.

Idgaf about waiting for a in house movement. FP movement is good enough for me. I think the new one is more sporty and the old one looks more classy. So if you want a more classy look Go for the old but the new one is more sporty and goes with the current trend

For all those "waiting" for an in house movement, would you shun the 5070 Patek because it is not in-house in favor of the 5170?

Newer one though I'd have to see it in person to determine if the date position bugged me or not.

Quite evenly balanced so far the result. Well said, will definitely consider this point. But having an open case-back ( a certainty with inhose movement ) is a plus as well.
