Is this a Rolex 1601?

Hi,

I don't really know my watches so I am looking for some help.

My dad passed me a rolex, he has no idea what model it is.

I have attached it below.

From my limited knowledge and web searches it looks like a 1601 blue?

Its not in the best condition and has never been serviced.

My questions are:
1) is this a 1601 blue?
2) Any idea what year it is?
3) Do I need to get it cleaned or serviced?
4) I don't like the strap, I am thinking of changing it to a leather strap.

In either horween green and horween intense blue.

2. Need to remove bracelet to check for the serial
3. Yes. (Full service if none done in the last 10 yrs). Don't polish it.
4. Leather bracelet is great for this model. I'd go for plain black.
